MPL Association Announces Cooperative Agreement with APCIA
Arrangement to Significantly Strengthen Lobbying and Advocacy Outreach Capabilities
(Rockville, MD, December 18, 2024)—The MPL Association is pleased to announce a new cooperative agreement between the Association and the American Property Casualty Insurance Association (APCIA) to enhance both entities’ government relations efforts. The agreement, which becomes effective on January 1, 2025, applies to state and federal legislative activities, as well as National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ (NAIC) initiatives.
The arrangement will provide the MPL Association with increased access to state legislative intelligence, ensuring that its members will have even timelier information on critical matters coming before state legislatures.
In addition, it will increase collaboration between the two organizations on strategic advocacy activities, creating a more consistent united front before state legislators on shared areas of concern. The agreement will also bolster efforts to address matters of concern arising within the NAIC.
“It’s a true win-win for both organizations,” Stinson said. “The Association will be even more tuned in to developing legislative and regulatory initiatives, allowing more time to collaborate and respond on policy issues that are most important to our membership. This joint enterprise is particularly critical now, a time when legislative attacks on state tort reforms are becoming more frequent.”
